Howdy,

Welcome to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Volunteer Application System. Please fill out the information at the link below. You will be given a choice of applying to become a Master Gardener, Master Wellness Volunteer, or to serve in a general capacity as a volunteer in a local program or committee. Master Naturalists should apply through the Texas Parks & Wildlife Volunteer for Texas Master Naturalists page at this link.

A description of each program is provided below. If you plan to volunteer with more than one of the above listed programs, select one program to start and then select the checkbox for your second volunteer program when directed to the online form. 4-H volunteers should not need to complete this form. 4-H volunteers need to complete their annual enrollment on the 4HOnline enrollment system.

Once you submit your application, you will be contacted by your local County Extension Agent within two weeks of your submission directing you to the next steps.

Thank you for your desire to serve our communities with us. We look forward to reviewing your application.

Programs

Master Gardener

The Master Gardener Program is a volunteer development program offered by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. It is designed to increase the availability of horticultural information and improve the quality of life through horticultural projects. Program objectives are implemented through the training of local volunteers, known as Master Gardeners. The volunteers aid AgriLife Extension by conducting school garden projects; answering telephone requests for horticultural information; establishing and maintaining demonstration gardens; working with special audiences in the community; and designing and implementing community improvement projects, as well as coordinating Master Gardener projects. Master Wellness

Master Wellness Volunteers leverage Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s outreach and education related to health, nutrition, food safety, and family wellbeing in the communities where they live and work. In 2021, Master Wellness Volunteers provided 4,596 hours of service reaching 21,190 Texans. Master Naturalist

The Texas Master Naturalist Program’s mission is to develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas. If you are not already a Texas Master Naturalist, you may apply to become one through the Texas Parks & Wildlife Volunteer for Texas Master Naturalists page at this link.  You must search for and select a Master Naturalist opportunity; you will then be stepped through the registration forms. Current Texas Master Naturalists should contact their chapter administrators if you do not know your volunteer user ID; you should not use this feature. Master Naturalists should not register through this Extension Volunteer Standards application system.

General Committee Volunteer

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service also welcomes volunteers in roles other than Master volunteers to serve on local committees and boards such as Leadership Advisory Board, program area committees, task forces, TEEA, and more. All direct volunteers, volunteers who handle Extension support group finances, and/or have full supervisory responsibilities of youth must complete a background check through the Extension Volunteer Standards program.  If you are serving as a volunteer in one of these roles, please click below to begin the application process.  You will select “Committee Volunteer” on the application form.

4-H volunteers should not need to complete this form. 4-H volunteers need to complete their annual enrollment on the 4HOnline enrollment system.
